Why:Optimal Biodynamic Stone Fruits When you visit the curtis orchard you leave the main road at stone hut in the southern flinders ands drive over miles and miles of bumpy dirt road through dense forest until you come to a cluster of beautiful bodynamic farms. . and the first question that comes to mind is how on earth did they end up there in the middle of nowhere? well there is a reason for it. in the 1880's a horticulture survey determined this area to be the most perfect in sa for growing stone fruit- the right soil, climate and water. so in 1884 noels grandfather bought 200 acres there and the rest is history- for once all predictions proved true. in 1998 Noel became interested in biodynamics, and with the help of alex podilinsky (the father of biodynamics in australia ) converted the farm to biodynamic.
